Bill Cosby’s Rep Begs PA Governor To Free Him, Calls His Incarceration ‘A Death Sentence’

Disgraced comedian Bill Cosby’s representative is begging Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf to set him free from prison early because of fears of coronavirus. The zealous plea ignores the fact that his client is a sex offender and thus not eligible for humanitarian release.

Bill Cosby Spokesman Begs For His Prison Release

Fox News reports that inmates all over the country are being set free because of coronavirus. fears.

However, a Philadelphia Department of Corrections officer said that Bill Cosby is not eligible to be released because he is a sex offender.

Despite his client’s serious classification, Cosby’s spokesman Andrew Wyatt is begging Gov. Wolf to make an exception.

He recently petitioned Wolf on behalf of the 82 year-old comic, who is serving time at the SCI Phoenix facility in Montgomery County.

Wyatt released the following statement about Cosby:

“Around the Fall of 2019, Actor & Comedian Bill Cosby was forced to have two major surgeries in-order to sustain his life (prevent him from having a stroke and/or heart attack). During a visit to the infirmary at SCI-Phoenix for high blood pressure issues, Mr. Cosby was informed that the carotid arteries on the right and left side of his neck had 90% blockage due to plaque build-up (the carotid arteries are the major blood vessels in the neck that supply blood to the brain, neck and face). Those surgeries were done separately and they were successful. Mr. Cosby now takes medication for high blood pressure and he is 100% blind from glaucoma.

Mr. Cosby was not given a life sentence nor a death sentence, so we are requesting that Gov. Wolf use his gubernatorial powers to show compassion to another human being, Bill Cosby. It has been well documented in the media and by the Secretary of Prisons, John Wetzel, that SCI-Phoenix has been badly infected with the Covid-19 virus.”

So not only does Cosby’s rep think his client deserves a get-out-of-jail free card, but we also learn that he wants this free pass after our tax dollars paid for major surgeries.

Bill Cosby’s Prison Sentence

Cosby is currently serving a sentence of up to ten years for drugging and sexually assaulting Temple University employee Andrea Constand back in 2004.

Given the violent and sexual nature of his crime, Cosby does not fall under the temporary reprieve conditions for vulnerable and nonviolent prisoners authorized by Gov. Wolf.

Wyatt had previously said that Cosby’s chances of being infected with COVID-19 were higher because he is reliant on the assistance of fellow prisoners who work as support service inmates, known as Certified Peer Specialists (CPI).

“I’m very concerned for Mr. Cosby’s health in prison during the Coronavirus epidemic,” Wyatt said. “The reason: Mr. Cosby is elderly and blind — and always needs to be escorted around the prison by support service inmates, known as Certified Peer Specialists (CPI).”

“Those inmates could fall victim to the Coronavirus and easily spread the disease to Mr. Cosby as they wheel him around in a wheelchair,” he added. “Among their duties, the inmates bring Mr. Cosby to the infirmary for his doctor appointments and clean his cell.”

Don’t Look For His Release Anytime Soon

So Andrew Wyatt is lobbying for leniency on behalf of a convicted sex offender.

He’s not in prison for tax fraud or a ‘victimless’ crime. What does this rep say about the Governor’s duty to protect his citizens?

Bill Cosby was accused of sexual assault by numerous women. Thus there would undoubtedly be mass outrage if he were to be released from prison early.

Once hailed as America’s ‘favorite dad’, “The Cosby Show” patriarch has certainly fallen a long way since his heyday in the 80’s.

This fallen star might want to get used to being in prison now. Because it looks like, regardless of coronavirus, he’s going to be there for awhile.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
