The Rock's WWE Status for Wrestlemania 36

As WrestleMania comes around, many fans wonder if The Rock will make an appearance. At the moment, we have a status update about The Rock’s WrestleMania 36 appearance. In other news, Mick Foley believes that John Cena could have his last match this year.

The Rock’s WWE Status

Wrestling Observer Radio claims that The Rock has not been invited to WrestleMania 36 this year. In fact, they even claim that the WWE will not extend an invite to The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment History.

On the bright side, Wrestling Observer Radio did acknowledge the value of The Rock:

“The only rabbit they could pull out of the hat that’s bigger than Austin is Dwayne [Johnson], you know and I don’t sense that. I don’t know it’s interesting because you know Dwayne does eventually get involved in some form even just a promo for Mania and I haven’t heard his name mentioned at all.”

As it stands, we will not be seeing The Rock at WrestleMania 36. If this were to change, we will keep you posted. Still, we doubt it is the end of the story. Roman Reigns has issued a challenge to his cousin for WrestleMania 37. So, maybe we have that to look forward to.

The WWE pulled out all the stops for WrestleMania this year, including bringing back Stone Cold Steve Austin. Since the WWE is worried about attendance and has moved WrestleMania to the Performance Center with no attendees due to the coronavirus, they could still invite The Rock. But at this point, it looks unlikely.

John Cena Retiring At WrestleMania 36?

Mick Foley believes John Cena could retire at WrestleMania 36

The passionate promo given by John Cena during SmackDown Live has many tongues wagging. One of them belongs to none other than WWE legend Mick Foley. He believes it could even be John Cena’s last match at WrestleMania 36.

John Cena is scheduled to take on The Fiend on the Grandest Stage of Them All. However, it is unlikely that this will lead to a lengthy feud afterwards. John has not been wrestling in a pay-per-view for the entirety of 2019. On top of that, he is breaking through in Hollywood, much like The Rock did years ago.

During an interview, Mick Foley predicted that The Fiend will beat John Cena and be “stronger than ever”. Interestingly, the event was to take place at John’s home base, Tampa, Florida but has been moved to Orlando. If Cena were to retire from active wrestling, Florida would be the place to do it.

On the flipside, there is plenty of indications that John Cena is far from done. He is still in excellent shape and does not have any long-term injuries that could influence him in the ring. At least, not that we know of. So, my personal opinion is that this is not John’s final WrestleMania appearance.  But with Hollywood always an option, never say never.
