Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania 36 Replacement, Several Wrestlers Sick

Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania 36 Replacement

Last night, we mentioned how Roman Reigns pulled himself out of WrestleMania 36. He was to challenge Goldberg for the Universal Championship in one of the marquee matches. Although, due to his battles with leukemia, Reigns opted to not wrestle because of the coronavirus. With his health situation, you cannot blame guy.

The plan is now for Goldberg to wrestle Braun Strowman at the event. WWE should film or have already filmed a segment for tonight’s SmackDown to explain the change.

There is a story floating around that The Miz is sick and The Usos were not happy. This got back to Reigns, who is related The Usos, and he ultimately pulled himself from the show. The Usos have been in contact with The Miz. Most recently, during the Elimination Chamber Match a few weeks back. Again, take this part as rumor.

As for Strowman, he has not much since losing the Intercontinental Championship at the Elimination Chamber. While he might not be in the best graces with WWE, there are not many options.

WrestleMania 36 takes places April 4 and 5.

Several Wrestlers Sick

As of now, nobody in WWE has tested positive for the coronavirus. But, there are reports that several superstars are sick. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter shedded more light on the situation.

“Names are being kept confidential because so few know, but it’s been confirmed that multiple people on the card either said they were sick, which meant instantly being pulled off all shows this week, there were others who did not feel sick but had fevers above 100.4, which was the WWE’s cut-off point of not allowing people to work, and others who, on their own, said they didn’t feel comfortable flying in.”

It should be noted that WWE has not be testing their talent specifically for the coronavirus. The past few weeks have seen WWE film from the Performance Center or Full Sail University. Before anyone enters those buildings, they are given a medical check-up. If one shows any symptoms of being sick or do not feel well, then they are sent home.

We know Rey Mysterio and Dana Brooke were not feeling well. Brooke was showing symptoms and Mysterio stated he was under the weather. Both were sent home to self-quarantine. That caused Brooke to be removed from her WrestleMania 36 match.

Joe Lisnow

The lineage of pro wrestling dates back centuries, tying the world together through the art of storytelling. After nearly 30 years of watching, now Joe has the chance to report the news about men and women competing inside a 20-foot by 20-foot ring.
