Update WrestleMania 36 Matches

We are getting closer to WrestleMania 36 and a few matches have been confirmed. In the coming days and weeks, we will learn what WWE has planned for the biggest event of the year.

In the Wreslting Observer Newsletter, they discussed two of the matches WWE is currently working on. The first would see Beth Phoenix return to the ring as she teams with Natalya.

The idea is for The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) to defend the the Women’s Tag Team Championship against  The Divas of Doom (Natalya & Phoenix). Since Asuka and Natalya are both booked for the Elimination Chamber, the match will likely not be announced until after March 9. Plus, Phoenix is currently taking part in the Edge – Randy Orton storyline. She has already been confirmed for Monday’s RAW to further the angle.

Last year, Natalya & Phoenix took part in a four-way tag team match at WrestleMania 35. They lost and The IIconics took home the gold.

Another match also in the works involves Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins. Right now, WWE is looking to either book a singles matches of have Rollins & Murphy defend the RAW Tag Team Championship. If they go the tag team route, Samoa Joe could be Owens’ partner.

Joe is currently suspended, but it will end before WrestleMania 36. Although, he is also dealing with a concussion and there is no way to determine how long someone will be out due to such an injury.

Lars Sullivan’s Return

Speaking of injured superstars, Lars Sullivan is healing and should be medically cleared shortly. He has been out since June because of knee surgery.

Sullivan’s main roster run has been nothing short of a disaster. He was supposed to get a massive push and take on John Cena at WrestleMania 35, but a panic attack caused those plans to be scrapped. Eventually, he landed on the main roster, but was hurt in his second match.

Then, there are the issues that took place outside of the ring. Several homophobic posts were found on bodybuilding message boards that were written by Sullivan. This occurred before Sullivan signed with WWE, but he was still fined $100,000 for the remarks. Oddly enough, a fan then noticed that Sullivan had participated in homoerotic porn years ago. This caused Sullivan to take an absence from the public’s eye.

With WrestleMania season right around the corner, WWE will likely wait until after the event to bring Sullivan back to TV. It will be interesting if WWE gives Sullivan another massive push after everything that has transpired.
