Valentina Shevchenko continued to demonstrate why she’s one of the greatest fighters in the game tonight at UFC 247, as the flyweight champ pretty much cruised through Katlyn Chookagian.
Round one
Chookagian came out pressuring and Shevchenko looked to counter. The latter threatened with some big, left straights and both women fired off kicks. Late in the round, however, Shevchenko scored a takedown. Before the frame ended, Shevchenko opened up a large cut with an elbow from the top.
Round two
Round two saw Chookagian moving forward again and Shevchenko worked her counters. Mid-round, Shevchenko started opening up with her kicks, before taking Chookagian down to the floor again. Shevchenko worked from the top position for the remainder of the round.
Round three
Chookagian was quickly taken down in round three, and Shevchenko moved into a crucifix position. After landing a series of punches, the fight was called. Another dominant win for the champ.
