San Francisco Giants “Unanimously Voted” To Bar Aubrey Huff From Championship Reunion Over “Political Support Of Trump”

Aubrey Huff, a first baseman and fielder for the 2010 San Francisco Giants championship team, posted an open letter claiming that he was informed by managers for the Giants that he was not invited to a reunion celebrating the 2010 MLB World Series win because of his support for President Donald Trump.

MLB Player Says He Was Disinvited To World Series Reunion Over Trump Support

The Hill reported that Aubrey Huff took to Twitter to say that Giants CEO Larry Baer informed him that the decision stemmed specifically from his “Twitter posts” and his “political support of Donald Trump.” Huff says that he was told that the decision was made by unanimous vote.

“My locker room humor on Twitter is meant to be satirical, and sarcastic,” Huff said. “And it was that type of humor that loosened up the clubhouse in 2010 for our charge at the World Series. They loved it then, and it hasn’t changed. That’s not the issue. It’s politics.”

Huff went on to say that society is trying to strip Americans of their First Amendment rights of freedom of speech and freedom of political affiliation.

The Giants Respond

The Giants responded by releasing a statement in which they don’t affirm or deny Aubrey Huff’s claim that he’s being barred for his open support of Trump. Instead, their official statement says that the decision not to include Huff is based on his “comments on social media that are unacceptable and run counter the values of our organization”.

“Earlier this month, we reached out to Aubrey Huff to let him know that he will not be included in the upcoming 2010 World Series Championship reunion,” the team said. “Aubrey has made multiple comments on social media that are unacceptable and run counter to the values of our organization. While we appreciate the many contributions that Aubrey made to the 2010 championship season, we stand by our decision.”

Keep in mind that much of what Huff posts on social media is unabashedly conservative in tone.

A sports journalist who has covered the MLB for 20 seasons, including the San Francisco Giants since 2004, made sure to get his two cents in.

Aubrey Huff Garners Backlash For Gun Tweet

The ex San Francisco Giant found himself in hot water back in November when he tweeted a photo of himself at a gun range along with the caption, “Getting my boys trained up on how to use a gun in the unlikely event @BernieSanders beats @realDonaldTrump in 2020.”

“In which case knowing how to effectively use a gun under socialism will be a must. By the way most the head shots were theirs,” he continued.

This obviously did not sit well with leftists. Clearly, Huff’s self-proclaimed ‘satirical’ and ‘sarcastic’ ‘locker room humor’ is lost on them.

Of course, this isn’t the first time someone has been mobbed for the locker room talk.

Radical Liberals Are Never Given This Treatment

If a liberal MLB athlete was ever banned from a reunion for supporting Barack Obama, all Hell would break loose in the media. Not to mention the team would be publicly shamed as “racist.”

However, since a Trump supporter is the one banned from attending, there will be no outrage. And the mainstream media will largely ignore the story.

Aubrey Huff may have said some controversial things, but radical leftists are almost always given free passes in these types of situations.

Why aren’t the more radical conservatives given the same courtesy?

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
