Stamp Fairtex Vs. Puja Tomar Official Trailer

A huge opportunity awaits Puja Tomar at ONE: A NEW TOMORROW.

Tomar, a multiple-time Indian National Wushu Champion, will get the chance to test herself against Stamp Fairtex on Friday from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

While Fairtex enters as the reigning ONE Atomweight Kickboxing & Muay Thai World Champion, Tomar believes she holds the right cards to deal Fairtex her first loss.

“I have more experience than she does, and I think that will play a key factor in this fight,” Tomar said.

“I plan to use my knowledge and experience to my advantage and show her some looks that she has not seen before. I am going to make it as tough for her as possible, and then hopefully come away with the victory.”

After suffering losses in 2017 and 2018 by submission in ONE, Tomar claimed her first victory for the promotion with a split decision over Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol at ONE: ETERNAL GLORY last January.

Now, she gets the chance to shock the world and make a real name for herself in mixed martial arts.

“This is no doubt the biggest fight of my career up to this point,” Tomar said. “There is a lot of pressure to perform well here, but I am working very hard in training so I can give a good showing.”

The 22-year-old Fairtex has made a rapid climb up the ranks in ONE Championship, focusing on claiming a World Championship in a third different discipline. She is a perfect 3-0 in mixed martial arts, including victories in 2019 over Bi Nguyen and Asha Roka.

“I was very happy and excited when they called me up to offer the bout against Stamp Fairtex,” Tomar said.

“She is a two-sport World Champion in ONE Championship, and one of Asia’s biggest names in martial arts.

“It is an honor to test my skills against her. I am looking forward to an intense battle.”

Tomar also realizes that she now has the opportunity to showcase her skills to her fans back in her home country of India and around the world competing for ONE. And that also gives her the chance to excel in front of one of her inspirations in life.

“For me, nothing is bigger than ONE Championship,” she said.

“On a global scale, ONE is watched by millions of people around the world, and competing here has just been a dream. It is definitely a privilege I take very seriously.

“Furthermore, I am very much inspired by ONE Vice President Miesha Tate, a legend in women’s mixed martial arts and one of my idols. She is such an amazing athlete and an incredible person.”
