Marty Scurll Signs New Deal (Update)

Marty Scurll Close Signing

2020 just started, but Marty Scurll is easily the hottest free-agent. WWE, All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Ring Of Honor (ROH), New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and other organizations want him on their roster.

In the latest update, Dave Meltzer mentioned how re-signing with ROH is getting very close. Also, this would not just be any typical ROH deal. Scurll would be allowed to compete for other promotions in and outside of the United States. This would reportedly include AEW, but not WWE does not seem like an option.

UPDATE as of January 12, 2020 at 5:30 PM EST

Marty Scurll has re-signed with ROH according to PWInsier. No news on the length or amount, but he will take on lead booking and creative duties.

ROH clearly does want to lose their biggest star. They have struggled in recent years with the addition of NXT and AEW.

The ROH deal is also financially great. Scurll would work 40 dates per year for ROH and make WWE main roster money. Plus, he can work with almost any other promotion.

NBS Orders Series About The Rock

It is common to see The Rock in Hollywood films and WWE TV, but he can now add another ring to his belt. NBC is making a TV series about The Rock’s life and “The Great One” will star in the show.

According to The Wrap, NBC ordered a new series called “Young Rock.” The first season runs for 11 episodes and will chronicle a young Dwayne Johnson; who fans would later know as The Rock.

The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions is producing the series along with others. Fresh Off The Boat writers Nahnatchka Khan and Jeff Chiang wrote the series.

No word on when the developmental show will be released, but it sounds like the TV station has faith in it.
