Mandy Rose Speaks Out About Her WWE Wrestling Career

As she is starting to get more attention, it is expected to be a good year for Mandy Rose. Even though she is relatively new, she has built a decent fan base already. In fact, she recently spoke to Fox News and told the WWE Universe a little more about herself.

How It All Began For Mandy Rose

Contrary to what many people believe, Rose is far from the vain blonde you see on television. Before she started wrestling, she was studying speech-language pathology at Iona College and even obtained her Bachelor’s degree.

Shortly after finishing her degree, she was approached by a friend who got her into bodybuilding and fitness competitions.

She won competitions from WBFF (World, Beauty, Fitness & Fashion) and the 2014 Bikini World Championship.

Eventually, she was noticed by the WWE and the rest is history.

The Meaning Of Her Wrestling Name

Mandy Rose also spoke about her wrestling name, which is actually a part of her real name. Her real name is Amanda Rose Saccomanno. She decided to keep the name since it also reflects her mum Mary Rose and her grandmother Rosemary.

On Total Divas, she was known under as Mandy. She then decided to keep the name Mandy, but add Rose to it to make it more special.

Did She Like Being On Total Divas?

Rose starred in Total Divas alongside her tag team partner Sonya Deville. She had a lot of good things to say about the show, including the following:

“It’s really cool because it’s such a blessing to be on ‘Total Divas’ because it’s a totally different demographic, as well, and a lot of the audience is a lot of people that may not watch wrestling and may not be aware with WWE, but then all of a sudden they get so intrigued by it, especially women all around the world, you know, traveling, and you see behind the scenes and you see some stuff that you’ll never see […] on WWE TV. So it’s really cool to get that vibe. And right now it’s a great time to be a woman in sports entertainment. So it’s really cool, especially to see these women like, you know, kicking a– on TV, but seeing all the work that […] comes with it and all the stuff that we have to, you know, all the drama and everything behind the scenes. So it’s a lot of fun.”

The Women She Looks Up To

During her interviewMandy was asked which women she looked up to. There were many from sports as well as popular pop culture.

Two women Mandy looks up to are Serena Williams and JLo. One a multiple time world tennis champion and the second a successful singer and actress.

Of course, she is on her way up in the wrestling world. And, well on her way to becoming a female icon herself. We can’t wait to see what she brings to the table in the future.
