Donald Cerrone Lights up Fans Who Claim he Took a Dive Against Conor McGregor

Although Donald Cerrone has fought the best-of-the best for years and holds more wins than anyone else in UFC history, some conspiracy theorists believe that he took a dive against Conor McGregor earlier this month. Well, “Cowboy” hasn’t taken the accusations lying down, as recently he fired back at fans who claim he threw the fight.

Cerrone responds to accusations he took a dive

Over the years, Cerrone has established himself as one of the toughest and most dangerous fighters in the game. No other fighter has scored more finishes than him in the Octagon, and “Cowboy” has fought a who’s who of top tier fighters.

But, despite all this, even before he fought McGregor at UFC 246, the conspiracy theory was floated Cerrone was going to take a dive. The theory being the UFC needed McGregor to record a win so that even bigger fights materialize in 2020 and possibly beyond.

Well, as you know, McGregor needed less than 60 seconds to take out Cerrone earlier this month. As a result, it wasn’t long before some observers started firing around the ‘fight was fixed’ narrative.

More recently, Cerrone posted the image below, and that prompted some conspiracy theorists to accuse “Cowboy” of taking a dive. As you can see, the popular fighter didn’t care for the comments, understandably.

“After that big payday to take a dive you have to live free”
Cerrone: “Take a dive you stupid motherf*cker?? Who you think your talking to? Get a f*cking life”

“Live free and get beat for money”
Cerrone: “You think that’s funny? You feel like I’m the kind of Man that would sell my soul? Do me a favor and unfollow me if that’s how you feel”

What’s next for “Cowboy”?

Due to the punishment the 36-year-old took in the fight to his nose and orbital bone, we likely won’t see Cerrone fighting again for a little bit. But, it will be interesting to see who he faces next and at what weight. Although he’s lost three straight, chances are we’ll see Cerrone throwing hands with a notable name.

Cerrone currently carries a record of 36-14, with 1 no-contest. His last win took place in May, 2019, when he outscored Al Iaquinta for the decision win.
