Xavier Woods Injury News + Seth Rollins On Hell In A Cell Debacle

When Can We See Xavier Woods Back?

During a recent WWE tour of Australia, one third of the New Day-Xavier Woods-suffered a ruptured Achilles. This type of injury can be devastating for anyone who suffers it, with a long recovery time often expected. If we want to compare apples to apples in terms of professional athletes, Kevin Durant ruptured his Achilles last season during the playoffs, and he is expected to miss the majority of the current NBA season (honestly, probably all of it). For those keeping score at home, that would be a year’s worth of recovery, for an athlete in a sport that is probably more demanding on the Achilles than even pro wrestling.

Now, however, rumblings are that we might see Xavier Woods return ahead of schedule-even though WWE never gave us an official schedule to observe. This is at least what we’ve been hearing thanks to the Wrestling Observer, among others.

Now, one thing that is important to note is that a return of Woods could happen at any time, provided the nature of the return is flexible. As in, you won’t see Xavier Woods showing up at WWE’s TLC PPV in a week to run around and interfere in any physical capacity. However, it’s not entirely out of the question to imagine Woods, with the aid of a device helping his mobility (wheel chair, leg scooter or the like) could return as the head cheerleader of New Day.

The group sorely misses his dynamic, and he could still provide his entertainment value to fans without necessarily needing to be risking himself physically. It will be interesting to see if this is what WWE has in mind, or if it’s more along the lines of his Achilles injury wasn’t as severe as others, and that would allow for a more rapid recovery and return.

Seth Rollins Explains Why His Hell In A Cell Match Was So Bad

Everyone who watched Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt at Hell In A Cell generally had a gripe or two.

The top two? The match itself was so terrible, especially the weird finish to a match intended to have no stoppage without a winner. The second? That awful red lighting.

It turns out, at least according to one individual involved, one of those gripes has a lot to do with the overall quality of the match.

Seth Rollins spent some time on WWE Backstage this week, and one thing he chose to address was the overall quality of that Cell match. Rollins expressed that he was not a fan of the red lighting being used during Bray Wyatt’s matches. Specifically, he feels that the unusual lighting had an impact on the match quality.

Fans haven’t been happy about the lighting either, and apparently not even The Fiend himself, Bray Wyatt, is in love with the unique creative decision. Reportedly, the red lighting is out of the mind of Vince McMahon himself, which of course, if true, means it will be hard to get that changed any time soon.
