Tyron Woodley Tells Leon Edwards to Stop “Clout Chasing”, After “Rocky” Takes Poke at Rap Career

With all the recent, all-star bout announcements, a targeted fight between Tyron Woodley and Leon Edward has got lost in the mix a little bit. But, thanks to a social media exchange the welterweights have had, maybe that’s changing.

Edwards piles on Woodley’s rap vid and the former champ responds

If you follow Woodley intently, then you know the UFC’s former welterweight champ is also working on a rapping career. Case in point, Woodley recently appeared in a video alongside Sky.Wlkr.

Well, as you may also know, recently there’s been news that the UFC is hoping to have Edwards fight Woodley on March 21st in London. As a result, Edwards brought that up, while taking some pokes at the former champ’s rap career.

Woodley evidently wasn’t about to let the post slide by, as he responded with this (warning: graphic language)(quote via MMA Mania):

“Shut your b-tch ass up before I don’t sign to fight you bum ass,” Woodley replied. “Nobody knows you, nobody cares, you a b**ch and ate a three piece and that’s your biggest claim to fame! Quit clout chasing and trying to add to your 50k followers. You’re embarrassing! Stop trying to talk s**t you’re garbage at it just like your bum ass career. I’ve made more money in music than you’ve made in your entire career. Laugh at that you lil b**ch!”

So will Woodley – Edwards happen?

So, based off Woodley’s comments above, he hasn’t in fact signed on yet to face Edwards at UFC London. Recently it was reported the fight had been agreed to, and Woodley also fired a verbal warning at “Rocky”.

From a rankings perspective, this fight makes a lot of sense. Edwards has won eight in a row and is now ranked #4. Woodley, meanwhile, is ranked #1 and hasn’t fought since he lost the welterweight title to Kamaru Usman this past March. So, unless Edwards is next for Usman, a bout with Woodley seems the most likely (provided Woodley agrees to it…).

Here is the expected line-up to date for UFC London, which will be hosted by the O2.

Tyron Woodley vs. Leon Edwards
John Phillips vs. Dusko Todorovic
Darren Stewart vs. Marvin Vettori
Tom Aspinall vs. Raphael Pessoa
Ashlee Evans-Smith vs. Molly McCann
Marc Diakiese vs. Stevie Ray
Paul Craig vs. Ryan Spann
