Two Possible Royal Rumble Returns

Two Superstars Could Return At The Royal Rumble

Now that all of the 2019 WWE PPVs are wrapped up, all eyes can look toward 2020. Right out of the gate, WWE kicks off the Road to WrestleMania with the 2020 Royal Rumble. The 2020 edition is happening live in Houston, Texas, at the end of January.

One thing that fans have come to expect out of the Rumble? Surprise entrants. In years past, these surprises have covered a variety of angles-legends and Hall of Famers working a special appearance for old time’s sake, for example. Others have been surprise debuts, like AJ Styles a few years back. And of course, we always have an eye toward Superstars who could be returning from injury, and who should be recovered around the time of the Royal Rumble.

Who Could It Be?

Two names being floated out this time around, courtesy of Fightful, are two women who have been out of action for quite a while. To be honest, they’ve largely faded from the thought process of the casual fan. As they say, out of sight, out of mind.

Those two Superstars? They would be Nia Jax and Ruby Riott.

In the case of Nia Jax, she’s managed to sort of stay in the public eye just a bit, as she has been involved with Total Divas. Jax has been out most of 2019 following much needed knee surgery. Rumblings from various sources behind the scenes indicate that she is ready to return at any moment. If that’s true, holding her out for another month and allowing her to be one of the big surprise entrants in the women’s Rumble would be a wise move.

For Ruby Riott, I feel she’s the more forgotten of the two. The former leader of the now-defunct Riott Squad has been out for a while recovering from surgeries on both of her shoulders. As with Nia Jax, the word seems to indicate that Ruby could be back any day now. She would be another prime candidate to return in January as part of the Rumble.

With the year-opening show just a bit more than a month away, we won’t have to wait too long to find out.

How Much Did John Cena Earn For Total Bellas?

WWE John Cena

John Cena is just about everywhere lately. That is, everywhere except a 2019 WWE PPV (can you believe he didn’t work a single WWE PPV match in 2019?). When Cena was still dating Nikki Bella, fans got to see him on a regular basis as part of the reality show. Now, thanks to an interview with Nikki in Health Magazine, we know how much Cena got paid for the show.

Or, more specifically, didn’t get paid.

From the interview, Nikki Bella had this to say:

“What people don’t realize is that John never took one paycheck from Total Bellas. It was beautiful—he was fully there to support me. I’ll never forget his support and his love”

Now, we know the decorated WWE Superstar isn’t hurting for cash. But, seeing that he was just along for the ride and declined any form of payment is pretty interesting.

Now that the pair have split, and with Cena really not wrestling at the current time, the multi-time champion is keeping himself quite busy with his burgeoning movie career.
