Kentucky Community Makes One Bedridden Man’s Dream Of Baptism Come True

Video of a bedridden man being baptized inspired Christians and people yearning for a strong faith across the country. A community of people came together to make this man’s dream of an immersion baptism come true.

Choosing God

The decision to proclaim your Christian faith through baptism is a very personal one. People make this decision in all stages of life. Some people decide to do this during their younger years while others wait. It is never too late to become a Christian!

When a man who is confined to a hospital bed made this decision, he needed some assistance and people came through in a remarkable and inspiring way.

The baptism took place at Clark Regional Medical Center in Kentucky. The man to be baptized – Jack Sowder – was admitted to the medical center in bad shape.

According to his daughter, Crystal Tackett, who narrates the video, Sowder had dreamed of an immersion baptism for years but was prevented by his bad health.

That’s where this Clark County community comes in. A trough was donated and the Clark County Fire Department showed up to fill it up with water. Paramedics and a lift helped make the 66-year-old man’s dream of baptism by immersion become a reality.

Most importantly, Sowder was surrounded by friends, family, and community there to witness this celebration of Christ’s love!

Sowder’s daughter remarks in the video that she never thought she’d see this day. What a blessing!

“Hallelujah” and “to God be the Glory!” she said as her father is cleansed by the water to proclaim his acceptance of Jesus.
