Both Israel Adesanya and Yoel Romero have made it clear that they’re down to fight. But, now that the bout doesn’t seem to be moving forward, Romero’s publicly called on Adesanya to exert more pressure, in an effort to the fight finalized.

Adesanya’s call out of Romero

Until not long ago, the expectation was Paulo Costa would be the first man to challenge the new middleweight champ,Adesanya. Costa has gone undefeated in the UFC, he defeated Romero by decision in August and he also has a big beef with Adesanya. But, more recently it was revealed Costa has been sidelined as a result of bicep surgery, and Adesanya called out Romero.

Romero was quick to say that he’s more than willing to face “The Last Stylebender”. But since then, Dana White reported the UFC’s looking at another bout for Romero, and that Adesanya could face the winner.

Romero’s latest statement

Well, since then, Romero shared out the video clip and comments below (warning: graphic language):

@stylebender you calling me out and now you putting excuses to back out? What happen , you heard I send people to the hospital after my fights? Don’t back out now…#seeyousoonboi #soldierofgod

Now, by all indications, it certainly doesn’t look like Adesanya’s changed his mind about wanting to fight Romero. Some might argue, I guess, that he could be doing even more publicly to land the Romero bout. But, it is true that the powerful wrestler’s coming off  a loss and has dropped three of his last four fights. So, it’s possible the UFC’s let Adesanya’s team know that it’s a non-starter?
