Rey Mysterio Leaving?

The Brian Kendrick Announces Indefinite Leave Of Absence From Pro Wrestling

The Brain Kendrick recently took to Twitter and announced that he is taking an indefinite leave of absence from pro wrestling. The 205 Live superstar sent out the following tweet.

We are not sure if this is part of new storyline or Kendrick is taking a legit break from the squared circle. He last competed earlier in the month, losing to Mansoor Al-Shehail.

This is Kendrick’s second run with WWE. The first time, he made the most noise by being one of the longest reigning tag team champions with Paul London. Eventually, both superstars were released from WWE. At the time, they felt WWE was running the wrestling business and put out two memorable shoot interviews.

Then, Kendrick returned to WWE in 2016 as part of the Cruiserweight Championship tournament. While Kendrick did not win the tournament, he eventually captured the title from the inaugural champion TJP at Hell in a Cell 2016. He would drop the belt a month later to Rich Swann.

It is no secret that WWE has struggled to make the 205 Live brand matter and there been talk of folding that part of WWE. Several of the cruiserweights have been sent to other brands, with the title now being part of NXT.

Rey Mysterio Could Be Leaving WWE Within A Few Months

Rey Mysterio Leaving?

WWE might be losing one of their biggest stars in Rey Mysterio. When Mysterio re-signed with WWE back in September 2018, there was a clause where he could opt out after 18 months.

If Mysterio decides to leave early, that means he would be gone around the time of WrestleMania 36. Of course, WWE could add some time due to missing action because of injuries. While WWE has lightened their stance on releasing talent, they are fearful Mysterio will join All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Do not forget, Mysterio worked last year’s All Out card for AEW, despite WWE’s best efforts to convince the masked superstar to not be booked for the show.

Mysterio is currently working a storyline with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. They will battle in a week at Survivor Series.

Plus, there have been rumors for months that Mysterio’s son Dominick could be working against his father. There was speculation that could take place at WrestleMania, with Mysterio retiring from in-ring competition as his son takes over the family legacy.
