Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are No Longer On Speaking Terms With Royal Family
A source close to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is speaking out to say that the couple is still not on good terms with the rest of the royal family.
A source close to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is speaking out this week to say that the couple is still not on good terms with the rest of the royal family. In fact, they are not even on speaking terms with them at the moment. “Nothing has changed. They don’t speak, no one is checking in, no one is texting,” the source told People Magazine.
Harry and William Aren’t Getting Along
The couple opened up last month about how hard the negative press surrounding them has been to deal with. Harry said at the time that he and his brother Prince William are “certainly on different paths…” The source said that nothing has really changed between the brothers in the weeks since then.
The insider added that while “eyes are open” about the difficult emotional time that Meghan and Harry are having, the relationship between the couple and the rest of the royals is just as tense as it was before.
In the video below, Harry says he and William don’t see each other as much as they used to.
Adjusting to Harry and Meghan’s Marriage Has Been Difficult
“As is often the case in any family, when one of your siblings gets married, there is always a period of readjustment,” the source explained. “People have new priorities and different focuses.”
“Just on a human level, if you take everything else out of the equation, I don’t think they’re in a very good shape to deal with anything right now,” the insider continued. “Everyone is hoping that they will come back from this break stronger than ever, and maybe with some time out of the spotlight, they can figure out what path to take next.”

“They’re going to have to try to figure out how to be civil, but they are on different paths now,” the source said. “It’s just the reality of the situation.”
The source went on to say that there’s no question that there’s been “a chill” between Harry and Meghan and William and his wife, Kate Middleton that runs “deeper than many outsiders realize.”
“Everyone was doing their duties, doing what they needed to do on behalf of the family — and that was that,” the insider claimed. “But there is a divide between the four of them. It’s hard for people to digest because everyone wants them to be such a unit.”
They’re still feeling the effects of the rift that started with Harry’s engagement to Meghan. And, this past summer Prince Harry and Meghan separated from their former charity The Royal Foundation. They foundation was created with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
It will also be a non-royal Christmas for Meghan and Harry as they will not be participating in the annual holiday festivities at Sandringham which includes walking with Queen Elizabeth to church on Christmas morning.
William and Kate Are Focused on Becoming King and Consort
The source concluded by saying that William and Kate are more focused on preparing for their future roles of King and Consort. They will assume those roles after the deaths of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles.
“William is the future King,” said the source. “There is going to be some competitiveness between him and Harry. That already puts a rock in the relationship.”
Royal historian Robert Lacey said that it should come as no surprise that William and Harry are going down different paths in life.
“After the death of their mother, Princess Diana, in 1997, the two brothers were thrown together by the tragedy of their childhood,” he explained. “But it’s inevitable, as they grow up and develop different personalities, that synchronicity won’t apply anymore.”
Regardless of the cause behind the split between William and Harry, it’s always difficult to see families become so divided in this way. We hope that the royal brothers will learn to eventually put their differences aside and get along again. Life is too short to hold grudges, particularly when it comes to close family members.
