A royal biographer details Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's behind-the-scenes struggle using words like "miserable" and "unhappy" to describe them.

A royal biographer shared intimate details of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s behind-the-scenes struggle to deal with the spotlight since their highly publicized Africa tour. The journalist used words like “miserable” and “unhappy” to describe the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry “Incredibly Unhappy”

“I think [Harry] feels and looks incredibly miserable and unhappy,” reports British journalist Angela Levin.

“Meghan is unhappy, too, and it seems incredibly sad that they can’t seem to help each other at the moment.”

Levin is well acquainted with the couple, as she is the author of the book “Harry: A Biography of a Prince”. The 2018 biography is based on Levin’s exclusive conversations with Harry right before he married Meghan.

The veteran journalist shadowed Prince Harry for much of the year prior to his marriage, giving her unique insight into the Royal’s personality.

Levin explained that much of Harry’s issues stem from retracing his mother Princess Diana’s steps in Angola earlier in the month.

Harry was only 12 years-old when Princess Diana tragically died. Diana died in a 1997 car crash at the young age of 36. At the time of her death, Diana was being chased by the paparazzi. Related: Source Reveals Princess Diana Feared Dying In a Car Accident

“It seems unfortunate now,” Levin said. “He is having another wave of agony over his mother, Princess Diana. The trip was going to be very difficult as he was retracing his mother’s steps.”

Meghan Markle Having A Particularly Hard Time

This comes two months after Levin opened up about how hard becoming a royal has been for Meghan.

“I think it’s very hard for her,” Levin said. “I think she’s done brilliantly at some things. She’s marvelous when they are out and about. She’s very good at talking to people. It’s an awful lot to learn and she’s very energetic and keen.”

The journalist continued, “But it might be good for her if she took a little bit more advice. Before in her life, she was very used to making her own decisions. I do think it’s very difficult for her. This is a very strict, traditional path. It takes a while to get used to it.”

“In the early stages, I don’t think the duchess really understood the difference between being a show business person and being a member of the royal family,” Levin opined.

“Prince Harry was very anxious when we spoke originally and said he didn’t want to be thought of like a show business person. His feeling about being royal was that it was about duty, it was about helping the queen and that it was a very serious job. But the line has been a very narrow one, I think.”

Life Isn’t Fair

Meghan Markle herself talked about the difficulties she’s had in the ITV documentary “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey,” which aired earlier this month.

“I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair,” Meghan said of dealing with the pressures inflicted on her by the media. “And that’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile.”
