Cody Rhodes Makes Addition To Upcoming AEW Title-Fight

Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes will challenge Chris Jericho for the All Elite Wrestling world championship at AEW Full Gear this Saturday night.

But after hearing issues with his role as AEW executive vice president and being in a title match, Rhodes made a decision.

During AEW Dynamite this week, he declared that he will never challenge for the belt again if he fails to defeat Jericho.

Rhodes ushered in AEW this past January with Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson and Kenny Omega. All four are executive vice presidents and hold roles as on-air talent.

Rikishi On The Usos Legal Issues: ‘You Can’t Hide Anything’

The Usos

Rikishi, the father of current WWE tag team wrestlers The Usos, was a guest on the WINCLY podcast for Wrestling Inc. recently.

The WWE Hall of Famer addressed the legal issues that have kept the duo of Jey and Jimmy from being on television. The two were not drafted during the WWE Draft.

“Today you can’t hide anything,” Rikishi said. “You have to be careful with social media. It’s not just when you come to an arena as it’s in your personal life and there are camera phones all over the place. For me, I’m always cautious of things that I do and if it’s not the right thing, then you definitely don’t wanna do that.

“With the boys, they are gonna live and learn. Nobody’s perfect, and I’m the first to say, but I’ve learned off my failures. If I did get in trouble, maybe had a few too many drinks and knew I wasn’t supposed to be behind the wheel, you can rest assured that I’m ready to pay the consequences. Sometimes you have to grow up.”

The 34-year-old twins were trained by Rikishi and made their debut for Florida Championship Wrestling in 2009. They were moved to the main WWE roster a year later and have had six tag team title runs since.

The Usos were the first-ever tag team to win the belts on both RAW and SmackDown. Jey was arrested in 2008 and Jimmy twice this year.
