Jose Aldo hasn’t weighed in for a bout at bantamweight just yet. But, it’s being reported the legendary, former 145 king is indeed, headed to the 135 division.

Aldo’s plans for a move to 135

Following Aldo’s decision loss to Alexander Volkanovski this May, it was reported Aldo was considering a drop to 135. The news caught more than a few people off guard, as for years there was talk about Aldo moving up from 145 to lightweight. Case in point, Dana White initially dismissed the possibility of the Brazilian star making the drop. More recently, Aldo insisted that he’s fighting at bantamweight next, and repeated his wish to face the champ, Henry Cejudo.

Aldo vs. Moraes

Well, MMA Junkie is reporting that a UFC official has confirmed that Aldo (28-5) will battle Marlon Moraes (22-6-1) at UFC 245, December 14th. So, not only is this big news on account of each man’s abilities, but if Aldo can beat Moraes, then he’ll jump right into the title shot mix at 135. Moraes will be fighting for the first time since June, when he was stopped by the aforementioned Cejudo.

It’s also another addition to a card that’s already very, very stacked. Here’s the line-up so far for the Las Vegas event.
