205 Live Update

Kacy Catanzaro Removed From WWE’s Roster Page

There were reports in September that NXT’s Kacy Catanzaro had given her notice to WWE. She cited a back injury as the reason for her resignation. Not much has been made public of the shocking news, but Catanzaro is no longer listed on WWE’s roster page.

Catanzaro never confirmed the rumors and kept promoting NXT on her social media account. Currently, she is dating WWE superstar Ricochet and the two were spotted together at SmackDown’s 20 Anniversary show on Fox.

Though Catanzaro has not commented about her decision to step away from pro wrestling, many believe she will return once her back is healed. There is no word on the extent of the injury.

Catanzaro is the first woman to complete a City Finals course for the American Ninja Warrior TV show. The now 25 year old signed with WWE in January 2018 and looked impressive with her gymnastics style of wrestling. She worked NXT live events, some NXT TV episodes, the most recent Mae Young Classic and wowed the crowd during the Women’s Royal Rumble; pulling off feats better than Kofi Kingston.

205 Live’s Future Becomes A Bit Clearer

Lio Rush

Even before all the recent changes to WWE’s TV schedule, the status of 205 Live was always up for debate. While their future is still not guaranteed , WWE has finally shed a little light on the brand.

In video posted to WWE’s social media account, 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick announced that NXT wrestlers will now be part of the brand. New Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush was also announced to appear on the show. They will be used to help fill void of several names that were sent to RAW or SmackDown as part  of the WWE Draft.

205 Live now is taped on SmackDown on Friday night. The episodes can be seen on the WWE Network and the title is also now defended on NXT.
