Chad Gable's Push

Vince McMahon A Fan Of Chad Gable

The King of the Ring (KOTR) Tournament returned this year, with superstars from both brands participating. The finals aired on RAW, with Baron Corbin defeating the underdog Chad Gable. Then on SmackDown, Gable interrupted Corbin’s coronation ceremony; in the process, destroying the throne and crown.

In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they noted how Vince McMahon is a fan of Gable (unlike his attitude towards Cedric Alexander). While Gable was seen as a long-shot to win, he was given the push as McMahon appreciates what he brings to the table.

After American Alpha broke up, Gable teamed with Robert Roode until they went their separate ways. A haircut later and Gable was lacking a storyline until the KOTR Tournament. We just have to wait and see if WWE pushes Gable higher or if he heads back to the bottom of the roster. One thing that is for sure, Gable looked impressive during the entire KOTR and we will have to see if WWE keeps that push going.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan Hospitalized

Hacksaw Jim Duggan pulled out of several events this weekend due to a medical incident. PW Insider first reported the news and stated Duggan’s family did not disclose the issue at this time.

Duggan, and his 2×4, having been entertaining fans for decades. He made his biggest name in WCW and also worked several WWE runs, dating back to 1987. His last in-ring wrestling appearances for WWE took place in 2012; as an entrant in the Royal Rumble Match and then on a special SmackDown episode with names from the past.

In recent years, the WWE Hall of Famer has faced health issues. After a campaign was started, Duggan underwent surgery for a torn rotator cuff in 2014. In November 2018, the now 65 year old was hospitalized in the intensive care unit. At some point, Duggan’s heart went into atrial fibrillation.

Stay tuned for more and from everyone at WrestleNewz, we wish Duggan a speedy recovery.
