Trump Fires Back at Taylor Swift After She Bashes Him at VMAs
She's out of her league taking on this administration
Earlier this week, we reported that Taylor Swift had used her speech at the MTV Video Music Awards to attack President Donald Trump and champion the Equality Act. Now, Trump’s White House has fired back at the singer.
Trump White House Responds To Swift
“The Trump Administration absolutely opposes discrimination of any kind and supports the equal treatment of all; however, the House-passed bill in its current form is filled with poison pills that threaten to undermine parental and conscience rights,” a spokesperson for Trump’s White House said in a statement, according to Fox News.
Kellyanne Conway Blasts Swift
Kellyanne Conway also responded to Swift by criticizing her leftwing political activism and questioning whether her fans even know what the Equality Act is.
“I think when Hollywood and singers and all go political, it sounds in the moment like it’s very popular, and you’ve seen so many times where it backfires and it blows up,” Conway said. “But she’s also somebody who went up against President Trump head-to-head in the United States Senate race in Tennessee and lost handily. Marsha Blackburn is our United States senator now.”
When asked why the Trump administration was not moving forward with the Equality Act, Conway said that there are many factors to that complicate it.

“The president and the White House support equality,” Conway said, “We don’t support pieces of legislation that have poison pills in it that can harm other people. Look at this economy — it’s equally open to everyone. People have job mobility, the deregulation, what he’s trying to do, peace and prosperity around the world — that’s to benefit everyone. But when something is named something, it’s not always truly that.”
Swift’s Attack On Trump
This comes after Swift shamelessly used her acceptance speech at the VMAs to attack Trump’s White House and praise the Equality Act.
“Regardless of who we are, regardless of how we identify, at the end of this video there was a petition — and there still is a petition for the Equality Act, which basically just says we all deserve equal rights under the law,” Swift said, referencing the Change.org petition she launched back in June that has since gotten more than 500,000 signatures.
“And, I want to thank everyone who signed that petition because it now has half-a-million signatures, which is five times the amount that it would need to warrant a response from the White House,” Swift added, tapping her wrist to reference a watch. The White House is actually only required to respond to petitions that get over 100,000 signatures in thirty days.
Trump is clearly sick and tired of seeing wealthy, out of touch liberal celebrities like Swift speak out to bash him, so we’re glad to see that he’s firing back at her. Many of the country music fans who got Swift to where she is today are Trump supporters, so it’s sad to see that she’s sold out to become just another brainless liberal entertainer.
