Taylor Swift’s Dad Deletes His Facebook After Fans Shame Him for Being Republican

If they consider themselves "fans" of Taylor Swift then they have no place attacking her father.

Taylor Swifts’ father Scott has apparently deleted his Facebook account after the singer revealed it to fans, who said they found rightwing memes on his page.

Taylor Swift’s Dad Posts Conservative Memes

Daily Mail reported that it all started when Swift shared a joke on Tumblr which her father Scott Swift had made on his personal Facebook page. Fans then went to his page and took screenshots of what they said were rightwing political posts, including right-leaning memes about things like immigration and refusing to accept Elizabeth Warren as a senator.

One of the memes posted on the page was about taxes and listing illegal immigrants as dependents.

“The IRS has returned my tax return to me this year after I apparently answered one of the questions incorrectly… In response to the question, ‘Do you have anyone dependent on you?’ I wrote: ‘9.5 million illegal immigrants, 1.1 million crack heads, 3.4 million unemployable scroungers, 80,000 criminals in over 85 prisons plus 650 idiots in Washington’. The IRS stated the answer I gave was ‘unacceptable!'”the meme read.

Another meme had the words “I no longer recognize this person as a Senator” over a photo of Elizabeth Warren. Fans also took screenshots indicating that Scott supports Blue Lives Matter, a pro-police movement that is seen as a retort to the Black Lives Matter campaign. The post calls on people to “stop the violence against America’s heroes in blue,” with a picture of a recently killed female officer.

Another post stated, “So sad to hear of the passing of Nancy Reagan. Thought the world of those two wonderful people. Golden Years.”

Taylor Swift Is A Democrat

This comes one year after Taylor broke her silence about politics publicly for the first time to say that she is a Democrat and to oppose Republican Marsha Blackburn in the Tennessee Senate race, which she ultimately won. She recently said that she regrets not speaking out to endorse Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.

“Rights are being stripped from basically everyone who isn’t a straight white cisgender male. I didn’t realize until recently that I could advocate for a community that I’m not a part of,” she said. “It’s hard to know how to do that without being so fearful of making a mistake that you just freeze. Because my mistakes are very loud. When I make a mistake, it echoes through the canyons of the world. It’s clickbait, and it’s a part of my life story, and it’s a part of my career arc.”

Scott Swift Submits To Left

Some fans have speculated that Scott’s Facebook was hacked and that he did not really post the rightwing memes. However, what’s the big deal if he did? It’s sad that in the eyes of the left, it’s not even acceptable for someone to express rightwing political opinions anymore. If Scott really did post the memes, it’s unfortunate that he submitted to the left by taking down his page. We need conservatives like him to stay strong in the face of liberal backlash, rather than back down to it.
