UFC 241 wasn’t the only major event to go down this weekend, as RIZIN FF 18 took place today in Nagoya, Japan, and it featured a major upset.

Asakura ends Horiguchi’s awe-inspiring run

The main event for RIZIN FF 18 saw Kai Asakura take on RIZIN and Bellator bantamweight champ, Kyoji Horiguchi. As you can see by watching the clips below, Asakura staggered Horiguchi with some hard shots, and then finished the deal with a booming right.

The fight was a non-title affair, so Horiguchi retains the bantamweight belt. But, there can be no doubt that Asakura will be challenging for the title soon. Horiguchi had won 13 straight prior to today (in MMA competition). His record now stands at 28-3, while Asakura’s improved to 13-1.
