This is a very special time in Bindi Irwin’s life. The “Dancing with the Stars” alum recently got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Chandler Powell. Although the 21-year-old is ecstatic about the next chapter of her life with her soon to be American husband, there is a void since her late father is not there to celebrate.
Bindi took to Instagram to write a sweet note to her dad, Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin. She shares that her younger brother Robert has stepped up to be the man of the house during this time and it would make Steve incredibly proud.
“Dad, You would be so incredibly proud of Robert,” Bindi shared on Instagram. “He has been such an amazing support during this beautiful new life chapter. I know you’d be beaming with pride when the time comes that he walks me down the aisle. I wish you could be here for these moments, but I know that your spirit lives on in us”

When Steve Irwin died in 2006, it felt as if the world was grieving. Bindi was only 8-years-old but she had already been working with her dad and had a television presence. She has since continued his conservation activism and love of animals, as has Robert. Not only do they love and care for animals but they are genuinely good people with big hearts. Terry has raised them to be people Steve would be proud of.
Robert is only 15-years-old, but he has already stepped up in a big way. He is a fan favorite on “The Tonight Show” when he brings his animals. As you can see in the video below, he has the same level of enthusiasm as Steve. Like father, like son!
This is an exciting time for the Irwin family. They have much to celebrate. Bindi is getting married and Robert is there to support her in Steve’s absence. We know Steve will be smiling down on them while their journies unfold.
