Extreme Rules

Extreme Rules should be more interesting than some of the previous pay-per-views; this due to the creative changes the WWE is currently implementing. But will it have an immediate effect on match outcomes? Let us take a closer look at our predictions and the match card!

Extreme Rules Winner Takes All – Seth Rollins (c) and Becky Lynch (c) Versus Lacey Evans And Baron Corbin

The premises of this match is thin, but the stakes are high. Evidently, this makes this match at Extreme Rules a lot more interesting. Whoever wins, will take all the titles; this includes the Universal Championship and the Raw Women’s Championship. That being said, this feud should stop after this. While there could be a possibility that the WWE put the title on Corbin, only for Lesnar to cash in, I do think the outcome of this match would be a win for Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins.

SmackDown Women’s Championship – Bayley (C) vs Alexa Bliss And Nikki Cross

Bayley has a big task ahead, as she takes on Alexa Bliss as well as Nikki Cross in a 2-on-1 handicap match. While one would say that Bayley will lose in this instance, I do not think this will be the case.

Extreme Rules is the perfect time for Sasha Banks to make her return. So, I believe Bayley will retain her championship with a little bit of help from The Boss. Since Sasha Banks is advertised for Summerslam, this would be the time for her to return.

WWE Championship – Kofi Kingston (c) vs Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe dropped his U.S. title not that long ago and is now eyeing up the WWE Championship. While Kofi Kingston is the fan favorite, I do think there are some changes in the works where the WWE Championship is concerned. Samoa Joe has yet to win the WWE Championship, and I think Extreme Rules will be the time to do it.

WWE United States Championship – Ricochet (c) vs AJ Styles

The match between Ricochet and AJ Styles is the one I look forward to the most. Two high-flyers in the same match with a plethora of indie experience is something to be very excited about.

Unfortunately, the match is certainly not in Ricochet’s favor, especially when you consider AJ Styles is being backed up by his Club compatriots Gallows and Anderson. Still, I believe The One And Only will come out victorious. However, I also believe that this feud will keep going into Summerslam and I could not be more excited about it!

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship – Daniel Bryan and Rowan (c) vs The New Day vs Heavy Machinery

Even though they are the least experienced, Heavy Machinery is my favorite tag team going into this match. I know this prediction is wishful thinking on my part, but they could carry these titles into Summerslam.

Still, when I look at things realistically, it is more likely for Daniel Bryan and Rowan to maintain. I also have to admit I would not be sad if they retained, as I have enjoyed Daniel’s mic work considerably over the past couple of months (fickle!). Whether or not the earth’s champions will retain remains to be seen, but this is certainly a match to watch!

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship – The Revival (c) vs The Usos

This feud has been going on for some time. While it has received a lot of criticism, I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between The Revival and The Usos.

It is all coming to ahead at Extreme Rules this Sunday and it could go either way. Both tag teams have serious clout in terms of being contenders. That being said, The Usos are regarded as the best tag team in the world. So, I’m going to go with the safe choice in this prediction, The Usos.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship – Drew Gulak (c) vs Tony Nese

Last pay-per-view, I predicted Drew Gulak would take the title. It was obvious, as Drew Gulak was featured across different brands multiple times. Now, the question is will Drew Gulak retain his title during Extreme Rules?

As usual, I believe the cruiserweight match will be one of the better matches of the night. Gulak and Nese are known to put on good matches, so this is another match on the card you cannot miss. As for the outcome of the cruiserweight match, I believe Drew Gulak will retain his title. Of course, he will have to put up a serious fight to retain against Nese.

The Undertaker and Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre.

This match is a little flimsy where story is concerned. I am also a little disheartened that the WWE are using The Undertaker like they have been, as the man’s legend status is in jeopardy with all these less-than-special matches.

The presence of The Undertaker does make the outcome of the match rather predictable. There is no doubt in my mind that Roman Reigns and The Undertaker will take the win. Great nostalgia, but not really expecting much from this particular mash.

Bobby Lashley vs Braun Strowman

extreme rules

Strowman takes on Lashley in a Last Man Standing Match. This could be a great one, especially with some of the bigger moments we witnessed on Monday Night Raw. Since I believe this feud will be continuing for some time, I think Lashley will take the win first.

Aleister Black vs Cesaro

Extreme Rules

The Dutch Destroyer can finally show what he is made of in this pay-per-view event. Cesaro is also a wonderful singles wrestler to watch, so this is a great booking on its own.

Considering the fact that Aleister Black has been promoted for some time now, it is difficult to see how he would take a loss during the pay-per-view. Therefore, I think Aleister Black will come out victorious thanks to a Black Mass kick. Based on the promotional material, it seems Cesaro already has his teeth protected with a brace. I cannot wait to watch this match, as I expect it will be an epic one.
