Tommaso Ciampa And Ruby Riott Injury Updates

– For a time, Tommaso Ciampa was the most hated person in NXT and he loved every minute of it. He would briefly join the main roster along with a slew of other NXT names before his neck could not take anymore damage. WWE had hoped the surgery could wait, but doctors advised against it.

Fightful Select reports that Ciampa is currently listed to return in the middle of August. This is great news considering how doctors were skeptical if Ciampa would ever be cleared to return.

In NXT, Ciampa and Johnny Gargano were part of DIY. They were the underdog duo that eventually won the NXT Tag Team Championships. After losing them, Ciampa turned heel on would take an extensive leave of absence for knee surgery.

Ciampa returned and feuded with Gargano, with them delivering unforgettable stories that was to culminate at Takeover New York. That did not happen as Adam Cole took Ciampa’s spot. At the end of the event, Ciampa came out to the ramp to embrace Gargano; who just won the NXT Championship and possibly ended their heated rivalry.

The WWE has changed since Ciampa went under the knife and there is no word if he will head back to the main roster or NXT. For what is worth, Ciampa has been open that he wants to remain in NXT.

– Since the Riott Squad was broken up during the Superstar Shake-up, none off the three have done much on TV. Their leader, Ruby Riott, ended up needing double shoulder surgery and she is not expected back until early January.

While an injury is never good, Ruby had no major storyline at the moment. With Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman now having a major say, it could allow for Ruby to get a fresh start when she returns. Or, WWE could reform the stable that always managed to be entertaining.
