Timmy Vick loves the World Wrestling Entertainment. Next to being diagnosed with a brain tumor, having his collectible WWE belts stolen is likely one of the worst things the little boy can imagine. But that’s exactly what happened when his parents shipped them to an artist in Seattle in order to do something special for him.

When Timmy, 5, who is on the autism spectrum, was diagnosed with cancer, his parents say wrestling and their son’s WWE belts were the only things that would calm him down during grueling treatments.

So, when Serg More, an artist in Washington State offered to create a unique piece with the belts, they sent them off from their home in Delaware never dreaming they’d be stolen by porch pirates.

Video of the theft can be seen here.

Front-door camera footage

With the influx of online shopping, packages getting stolen from doorsteps have become an increasing problem. The so-called “porch pirates” patrol neighborhoods looking for unattended packages and run off with them.

Thankfully, front-door camera technology now gives residents increased security and ability to see exactly who the thieves are. Serg More has one of these cameras and was able to show the police and media the perpetrators in the act.

Returning the package

When local news outlets began reporting, the thieves must’ve been watching, because the package suddenly returned to More’s porch along with a note.

“We are so sorry for taking your stuff,” the note said. “Never in a million years would I have expected I would have stolen from a sick five-year-old. I am ashamed of what I did.”

Hopefully, they also realize that stealing is wrong regardless of whose stuff they’re taking. The police are still looking for the porch pirates.

In this case, the happy news is Timmy has his belts back and Serg More can complete the piece he wanted to create for him.
