– Mickie James’ streak of not requiring major surgery during her 20 year wrestling career has ended. She is scheduled to undergo surgery today at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
According to the Wreslting Observer Newsletter, James tore the ACL in her right knee during the June 6 live event in Texas against Carmella. She will be out of action for the remainder of the year as the recovery is around 7 to 9 months. There is still a chance James could return in time for WrestleMania 36. As seen below, James commented on the surgery and her future.
Thank you all for your love, prayers, and well wishes. I am grateful! I’ll be just fine… if I come back… I’m coming back bionic! ?

James signed a new multi year deal with WWE in late 2016, but WWE could freeze the contract for the time she misses due to the surgery. WWE would only enforce that rule if they think James is trying to leave for All Elite Wrestling. Since returning to WWE, James had a short run with Alexa Bliss but has mostly been used to work with younger talent.
– On RAW, Bray Wyatt returned to TV after a year away and using his new gimmick of “The Fiend.” He attacked Finn Balor, which has led to speculation that the two will meet at SummerSlam.
With Balor expected to take a few months off from WWE, that could very well happen after SummerSlam on August 11. There is word on why Balor is asking for time off and the belief is that he simply needs a break.
As for Wyatt, his return was met with a massive ovation from the live and vocal crowd on RAW. The Firefly Funhouse segments the past few months have seen huge views on YouTube and it seems that the time away was what Wyatt needed.
