Kyoji Horiguchi

Kyoji Horiguchi’s awe-inspiring, post-UFC run continued last month, as the Japanese star added Bellator’s bantamweight title to his resume.

The 28-year-old faced Darrion Caldwell at Bellator 222, and Horiguchi took the 135 title via a unanimous decision. With the win, Horiguchi extended his winning streak to 13, and that includes 10 straight wins since he exited the UFC in 2016.

Recently RIZIN shared out the latest “Confessions” episode, and not surprisingly, it documents Horiguchi’s championship win at Bellator 222, and the reaction of other RIZIN fighters to it.

Horiguchi, who won RIZIN’s inaugural bantamweight title last year by defeating Caldwell, had planned to call out UFC champ-champ Henry Cejudo.

Horiguchi now carries an impressive record of 28-2, and he’s expected to fight Kai Asakura at RIZIN 18, August 18, in a non-title bout.
