The son of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry has only been alive for just over a month, yet he is already on his third nanny after the first two quit in quick succession.

Fox News reported that the high turnover of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s nannies has only furthered rumors that his parents are difficult to work with. Since Meghan married Harry last year, she has had a great deal of difficulty keeping her staffers, as many have quit amongst rumors that she is so hard to work with that she has been nicknamed “Duchess Difficult.” A source close to the royal couple attempted to explain why the nannies have been quitting.

“Often there are different needs at different stages of the baby’s life. The first nanny was a night nurse,” the source said. “But Harry and Meghan do not want to rush this or take any risks getting this decision right. It’s deeply personal and can depend on the needs of the baby and parents.”

Many Royal Staffers Quitting

While this may be the case, many believe that Meghan’s attitude could be the reason behind the nannies quitting. In November of last year, Meghan’s personal assistant Melissa Toubati quit after it was reported that she had been driven to tears by the royal. Weeks later, the royal couple’s private secretary Samantha Cohen quit after seventeen years with the royal family. Then, in January of this year, Meghan’s female bodyguard left after just six months on the job. In the past few weeks, private secretaries Amy Pickerall and Heather Wong also left their positions.

At this point, it’s clear that there is at least some kind of issue in working on Meghan’s staff, even if the Duchess herself is not to blame for it. While she’s still relatively new as a royal, we hope that Meghan is able to solve whatever is going on quickly so that she can find the perfect staff that will fit the needs of her and her family.
