Finn Balor Will Be Taking Time Off After WWE Summerslam Event

During Extreme Rules, Finn Balor lost his Intercontinental Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura. It would seen that the title drop was done for a reason, as it has now been revealed Finn Balor will be taking some time off after Summerslam.

Finn Balor Loses At Extreme Rules And Raw

Shortly before his leave of absence, Finn Balor has been suffering some serious losses. First, he dropped his title to Shinsuke Nakamura at Extreme Rules, but also suffered a loss against Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt.

Feud With Bray Wyatt Before His Hiatus?

Finn Balor is expected to have one more feud before his hiatus, more specifically a rivalry with Bray Wyatt. Evidently, it is not the first time that Bray and Finn have a feud, as their original feud can be traced back all the way to 2017.

Interestingly, Bray Wyatt and Finn Balor’s feud should have happened months ago at TLC. However, Bray Wyatt became ill and the feud has to be reworked. Instead of Bray Wyatt, the WWE chose AJ Styles as a replacement.

When Will Finn Balor Go On His Hiatus And How Long Will He Be Away For?

Balor is expected to leave a little or directly after Summerslam, although the specific date is not yet known. According to sources, Finn Balor should be on hiatus for approximately two months. If this information is correct, it would mean Finn Balor will be back in time for Survivor Series.

As for the reason for Finn Balor’s hiatus, it would seem that he asked WWE management for some time to recharge his batteries. When you consider how often WWE superstars have to travel and their overall work schedule, some time off is certainly not something that is out of the blue.

Superstars Advocating For An Off Season

Some WWE superstars have shown their support for an off season for wrestlers; this includes WWE superstar Roman Reigns. As the WWE travel and work schedule is extremely grueling, injuries and mental health problems are not that uncommon within the WWE.

Due to the grueling schedule, some WWE superstars have suffered from addiction as well. In recent history, athletes such as Kurt Angle, Rosa Mendes, and Alicia Fox have all had their addiction issues. If superstars had a little more time to recharge their batteries, then maybe these issues could be avoided?

Soon, an article will be released from one of my colleagues. In it, he advocates for an off season for wrestlers. With the recent hiatus request of Finn Balor, and the support of wrestlers for an off season, this topic has not been more current.

One does have to wonder if Finn Balor will be punished for asking time off. While the WWE would have you think this kind of tactic does not happen in their company, they certainly want to avoid other superstars asking for time off, so they might want to set an example. While I want to believe that punishment tactics would not be used, I would not put it past this big and powerful company.
