Over the past couple of months, Alexa Bliss has been suffering from a considerable amount of health problems. Just as we welcomed The Goddess back into the title picture, she has now come down with another health problem just before Extreme Rules.

Alexa Bliss Suffers From Sinus Infection

Let me tell you from someone who gets these on a regular basis, sinus infections are the worst! They can range from something simple like feeling you have a cold to full blown face pain, teeth pain, headaches, swollen lymph nodes, and even fever. Based on her Twitter messages, it would seem Alexa is currently in the latter category.

Sinus infections can have numerous causes, but one of the most dominant ones is allergies. People with existing conditions such as asthma are also more susceptible to it, which is the category I find myself in. Allergy season is in full swing though, so a sinus infection is not unusual this time of year.

The Real Reason Nikki Cross Got Added To The Match?

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross

The problem with a sinus infection is that it can hinder your ability to breathe. Evidently, being in a wrestling match where breathing is paramount can be a bit of a problem.

According to Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer, Nikki Cross was added to the match due to the sinus infection Alexa is suffering from. If accurate, it means that Nikki Cross will be taking the brunt of the match. Still, despite the fact that Alexa might not be doing that much time in the ring, I still look forward to seeing her in the match.

Ongoing Health Issues

Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss suffered some ongoing health issues this past year. Before her sinus infection, she suffered quite a serious concussion. It has taken her quite a bit of time to come back. Despite the seriousness of the injury, Alexa was positive about the future.

“At first I was very nervous, coming back to the ring because I didn’t know exactly what was going on in my head. I knew I had a concussion, but I didn’t really research concussions. Then I was sent to a concussion specialist in Pittsburgh who pretty much schooled me on pretty much everything on concussions. It made me feel a lot better about the whole situation. It made me feel I was in charge of my injury. It made me feel like I understood it. I’m definitely not nervous at all being in the ring. I was at first, but now that I’m educated on the topic and know the steps to take to make sure it doesn’t happen again. With the brain exercises that I do and eye exercises, I feel like I’m more prepared than ever now.”

With Alexa Bliss returning to the ring at Extreme Rules, I hope she takes the time she needs to deal with her sinus problem. Hopefully, she will get the rest she needs in the runup to Sunday. Sinus infections are the worst, but they can get better with the proper rest.
