18 Cops Show up to Teen’s Graduation Party After Police Officer Dad Dies

When eighteen police officers show up at a teenager’s house party, it usually sends everyone into panic mode. That’s why it’s so heartwarming that a story is going viral this week about cops showing up at a young man’s house party for a good reason!

Micah Schieber is an 18- year-old from Michigan who graduated from high school earlier this month. Micah has been through quite a lot in life, as his father Chad passed away back in 2007 while running the Chicago Marathon from an undetected heart condition. At the time of his death, Chad was 35-years-old and had worked for the Midland Police Department for fourteen years.

Fox News reported eighteen police officers showed up at Micah’s graduation party to be there for him since their fallen officer could not be. Micah had asked his mother to invite the officers to his graduation party because it would make it feel like a piece of his father was there.

“I just thought it’d be cool to have a piece of my family and my dad at my graduation because that’s something I’ll always miss,” he said.

Midland Police Chief Cliff Block said that the officers did not hesitate to accept the invitation.

“I knew we’d do something to make it happen. I had the honor of working with Chad Schieber,” he explained.

“Car after car after car, I was dumbfounded,” Micah said. “I was left speechless because of their heart.”

Cops Give Gift to Micah

The officers even gave Micah $111 in honor of his father’s badge number. In addition, they gave him a trading card of his dad, which Micah described as “very special.”

“I didn’t have one, I didn’t even know they made them,” Micah said. “And so opening up the gift and seeing that first just kinda hit me, hit me hard.”
