Meghan Markle has found herself under fire once again this week for being labeled “extravagant” after it was revealed that she spent over $500,000 in 2018 alone in the months after she joined the British royal family.

Fox News reported that royal biographer Angela Levin stated that the British public “balked” when they learned that Meghan spent an estimated $514,000 of their tax dollars on her own extravagant lifestyle last year. Other expenses included a $379,000 baby shower and a massive $3.8 million home renovation on Frogmore Cottage, which she recently moved into with her husband Prince Harry.

Levin said that news of Meghan’s spending has “not gone down well” with British taxpayers.

“I think Meghan on occasion has been extravagant, which has not gone down well,” the expert said. “The Queen is known to be frugal and some members of the British public have balked at a proportion of their tax going towards what they consider to be frivolity.”

Levin went on to slam the $379,000 that Meghan spent on her baby shower as an “excessive amount whoever offered to pay for it, especially for someone who calls herself a humanitarian.”

“It is, so I have been told, one of many reasons why all Harry and Meghan’s staff and offices are in the process of moving to Buckingham Palace, where even their newly hired PR director, Sara Latham, will be expected to report to the Queen’s Communications Secretary,” Levin said, adding that she hopes that Meghan will become “less show business and more royal” as time goes on.

Meghan’s spending could be fatal for the royal family should it continue in the years to come, as one of the main arguments to getting rid of the royals in the United Kingdom is that taxpayers are sick of footing the bill for their lifestyles. Well aware of this, Queen Elizabeth has respected the taxpayers by living as frugally as possible, which has ensured that the royal family has survived this long.

This isn’t the only thing that Meghan has been doing that could threaten the future of the royal family. The Duchess of Sussex has also violated the protocol that the royal family should be politically neutral at all times by continuing to express her liberal political views. The Queen has smartly remained politically neutral in public for decades, and in doing so, she has fans from all sides of the political spectrum.

In the end, Meghan should focus more on copying the moves of the Queen if she would like to remain a royal for the rest of her life. Living frugally and staying politically neutral are two things the Queen has done that have ensured the survival of the royals until now, and if Meghan does not get in line and start doing these two things as well, the future of the British royal family could very well be in jeopardy.
