Wrestling Veteran Joins All Elite Wrestling + Their TV Deal Finalized?

– Ever since All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was announced at the start of the year, there have been many questions. Most have been answered, but one the most important involved a TV deal. According to The Wrap, AEW working Ted Turner is said to be “virtually done.”

This Wednesday, WarnerMedia Upfronts will be holding a presentation at 10 AM EST from New York City’s Madison Square Garden. AEW President Tony Khan and some of the bigger names from the upstart promotion are going to be there to announce a TV deal.

While no specific details are available, Jim Ross stated in April that AEW will run a weekly TV show starting in October on the TNT channel that will run two hours. The rumored day is either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday as there will be no major competition from WWE on those days. RAW will remain on Mondays, but SmackDown is moving to Fridays when they leave the USA Network for FOX Sports. There has been talk of SmackDown’s switch to Friday only being temporary. As of now, Tuesdays seems like the favorite for AEW’s yet to be named TV show.

We also do not know the financial terms and that might not get disclosed as AEW is a private company and not publicly traded.

– Speaking of AEW, they have signed veteran Jerry Lynn as a coach. Lynn has 25 years of experience in the business and retired in March of 2013.

He has worked for all the major companies in the United States such as ECW, WCW, WWE, ROH and Impact Wrestling. After retiring, he worked for ROH as a producer and agent in 2016.

Below are tweets from Lynn and AEW.

As a reminder AEW’s first pay per view Double Or Nothing is May 25 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
