Another of MMA’s most experienced fighters has closed out his career, as UFC vet Josh Burkman has announced he’s hanging up the gloves.

Burkman announced he’s exiting the game, following a split decision loss to William Macario at LFA 66 on Friday. With the loss, Burkman’s overall record dropped to 28-18, with 1 no-contest.

Although the 38-year-old’s career ended on a six-fight losing streak, Burkman scored several, memorable wins during his 15 plus year run. After joining the WSOF in 2012, Burkman took out Aaron Simpson and in his next outing, he choked Jon Fitch out in just 41 seconds.

Burkman made his pro debut back in 2003, and he competed in the second season of “The Ultimate Fighter”.
