He may not have yet sunken to BJ Penn-level depths of suckitude, but former champ Anderson Silva isn’t doing himself any favors by taking more fights. Case in point: His UFC 237 co-main event bout against Jared Cannonier, a dude who wouldn’t have been able to mow Silva’s lawn a few years ago.

Silva clearly ready to go all Muay Thai on the dude, throwing kicks while staying mobile. At one point Silva even went for the Thai clinch, ready to do to Cannonier what he did to Rich Franklin.

But nah. Silva’s old and his body is crumbling, as evidenced by the kick Cannonier threw to his leg in the waning seconds of the first round. The Brazilian legend fell to the canvas crying out in pain, and the referee was jumping in almost immediately.

Why is Silva still fighting? Does he really need the money?
