FFC 36 Results: Mykyta Chub Handles Francois Ambang

Mykyta Chub outclassed challenger Francois Ambang, retaining his middleweight crown after 15 minutes of action at the sold out Fight Dome at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas.

The Ukrainian champion continued his dominance at 187 pounds, utilizing his feints and demonstrating his exceptional technique across five rounds. The challenger had his moments, landing some solid strikes but in the end, it was the champion who’s volume proved to be too much.

Chub continues his reign. Who’s next for the unstoppable middleweight king?

In the co-main event, Journey Newson left no questions against his potential with an overhand right knocking Soslan Abanokov unconscious inside eighty seconds. Newson, coming in with an 8-1 record, left no doubts in the mind of the FFC matchmakers with a brutal knockout.

Tristan Connelly produced a spectacular performance on short notice to submit Zach Juusola in just under three minutes. Connelly and Juusola had exchanged words throughout fight week, but it was the Canadian who capitalized on a takedown attempt to sink in a guillotine choke.

Jordan Leavitt made a stunning impact on his FFC debut, submitting fellow Las Vegas native inside the opening two minutes. After an explosive start, Leavitt scored a takedown and sunk in a beautiful arm-triangle choke, sending Ostrander to sleep.

Robert Trujillo opened up the card with a ground and pound stoppage over a game David Stieneke. With both fighters making their professional debuts, some would expect a cagey start but both fighters came out swinging.
