Sasha Banks Update

– Chris Jericho is hot community in the wrestling world and that statement was proven last night. The former WWE Champion had a busy night, first appearing at Southern Honor Wrestling and later New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).

The night did not start out great for Jericho. He was attacked by Kenny Omega, who he will face at All Elite Wrestling’s first show later in the month. This will be a rematch from their NJPW battle at Wrestle Kingdom 12, where Omega came out the victor. AEW’s Double Or Nothing will be May 25 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Then only hours later, Jericho appeared via video following Okada’s successful IWGP Heavyweight Title defense against SANADA. Using the nickname “The Painmaker,” which is a play on Okada’s “Rainmaker,” Jericho challenged Okada to a title shot. That match will take place June 9 from the Osaka-jo Hall.

Jericho is able to work with several promotions because his AEW deal has that written in the details. Although, it does not allow Jericho to compete for WWE.

Below are videos from Jericho’s double appearance.

– The original idea was for Sasha Banks to take part in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match later this month. Due to Banks unhappiness with WWE, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that her spot went to Dana Brooke.

Banks has not appeared on WWE TV since WrestleMania 35, where she lost the Women Tag Team Champions alongside Bayley to The IIconics. The booking of the match and WWE’s decision to also move Bayley to SmackDown caused Banks to request her release.

WWE has still not granted the release and are hoping that over time, Banks will change her tune and return.
