In case you haven’t heard, Chris Jericho is facing Kenny Omega in the Tokyo Dome at Wrestle Kingdom 12 on January 4th.

This is not a drill. This is reality. This match is actually happening.

I personally don’t know what to do with this news. Chris Jericho is my favorite of all time and Kenny Omega is the one wrestler I’d like to see more than anyone else in WWE. It kind of still doesn’t feel real, but it is. Wrestling in 2017, am I right?

How Did It Happen?

Jericho and Omega have been feuding online for weeks. It all started on Oct. 20, when Jericho responded to a fan who claimed that Omega was the best wrestler in the world by saying that he wasn’t even the best in Winnipeg.

Omega, of course, fired back:

From there they jawed back and forth about Omega’s match star ratings:

And even their employers:

As indicated in Jericho’s tweet, it had been speculated that the two were working toward a match on Jericho’s cruise – but clearly, a boat wasn’t big enough for this feud. After Omega successfully defended his IWGP United States Championship against Beretta at NJPW Power Struggle on Saturday, Omega cut a promo calling for his next challenger. And Jericho responded:

Again, somehow this is for real – and the implications are HUGE.
