Monday Night Raw: 8 pm EST

Show opens up and Triple H comes out to the ring, followed by Universal Champion Seth Rollins. The two of them reminisce on Rollins’ victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, then turn to what’s next for Rollins and the Universal Championship. That will be decided tonight. Two Triple Threat matches will take place and the winners will compete for the shot. Only the best of the best will emerge. Rollins seems excited by this, but then Samoa Joe’s music hits and he comes out to the ring.

Then Rey Mysterio comes out with some thoughts of his own, followed by Drew McIntyre who also expresses his intentions towards the title. The Miz comes out, as the list of names in the running continues to pile out into the arena. Miz announces that the “A-Lister” is back on Raw, and Rollins has something that he wants. Baron Corbin comes out and says he’s going to put it all in perspective for everyone, and everyone boos him ferociously. Corbin says Rollins may have slayed the beast, but he retired a legend.

AJ Styles’ music hits and he comes out to an ovation. As he gets to the ring, the crowd chants his name. Styles says everyone seems to have forgotten that AJ Styles is on Raw. And now everyone on Raw is going to find out why Smackdown was “the house that AJ Styles built.” Rollins looks at Triple H and says he can see now what he meant; everyone gunning for him. But Rollins says he’s ready, and he’s going to “Burn it down.”

Sami Zayn comes out to the ring to cut a promo. He starts criticizing the fans over their negative attitude about everything. The fans have even said that Zayn is bitter, but Zayn just wants to settle that claim right now. Zayn is actually jubilant, he says. And he has proof. he shows a picture of him hiking in Switzerland. He shows another picture of him on the fiords of Norway. He continues to show pictures of his travels while he was off with injury, and explains the depths of the spiritual experience he has had.

This is what he means, Zayn says. He points out the smile on his face in the pictures. That is not a bitter face. Zayn says he had to really think about what it was about WWE that had been bringing him down, and the problem, Zayn says, is the fans. It’s the toxic culture that they’ve created. The crowd boos and Zayn says he knows why they boo. They boo because it’s easier to blame Zayn for their problems than it is to look at themselves. They all get together in a tribe, a mob mentality, and cast their negativity onto him.

Zayn assures them he would rather be anywhere in the world rather than in this city, surrounded by this crowd in Des Moines, Iowa. Zayn says he has an idea for everyone. They can all take a trip… Straight to hell! With that, Zayn takes his leave as his music plays.
