AEW Lands TV Deal With Turner? Road Dogg Resigns From SD LIVE

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is taking the world of professional wrestling by storm! With Jim Ross recently signing a multi-year contract with the company, many have been speculating if the promotion had a television show on the horizon.

Which is exactly what seemingly is happening now.

The Fight Oracle recently reported on their Twitter handle that Turner Sport has plans to present AEW at their upfronts as part of presentation they plan on showcasing to advertisers, which is scheduled for this May 15th.  According to a report, the home for AEW’s television show would be TBS, coming fall of this year. It’s important to note that this wouldn’t be the first time Turner turned into a host for a professional wrestling promotion that rivals the WWE; for those who are old enough to recall, they were infamously the television home to Thunder and WCW Nitro during the Monday Night Wars.

– While he was just inducted into WWE’s Hall of Fame this past Saturday night, as per a report from PW Insider, Brian “Road Dogg” James has resigned from his SD LIVE head writer position as of last night. He led the Blue brand creative, along with Stephen Guerrieri, Co-Head Writer, with the two splitting up the workload; however, James was the one out of the two that spent the most time on the road in this role.

According to the report, Road Dogg had grown increasingly frustrated with Vince McMahon’s changes to SD LIVE script. What broke the camel’s back was this past Tuesday, which garnered mixed reviews from the WWE Universe. It is being said that VKM had a heavy presence on the show.

It’s unclear on who would replace Brian, or if he’ll be given another role within the company. With friend Billy Gunn over at AEW, it’s only a matter of time before people start to speculate as to whether or not James may jump ship to that promotion.

It’ll be interesting to see how the next few weeks play out on SmackDown LIVE. Either way, Brian James is a highly-talented individual and regardless of where he ends up, it’s no doubt he’ll experience continued success.
