WrestleMania Main Event Announced + No More Dean Ambrose?

-After months of fan speculation, WWE this morning confirmed the WrestleMania 35 main event. The company issued a press release this morning, and the important summary is that the triple threat match between Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey will be your WrestleMania 35 main event.

Here’s a snippet from the press release:

“For the first time in WWE history, a women’s match will be the main event of WrestleMania as the Raw Women’s Championship featuring Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch will take place on Sunday, April 7 in front of a capacity crowd at MetLife Stadium and streaming live on WWE Network around the world.”

Fans have been embracing the Women’s Division for a while now. Women got their own PPV last year in Evolution, and have seen their matches serve as the main event on RAW, SmackDown and several PPV in recent months. Fans have been calling for the ‘Mania main event slot for a long time now. While many had speculated or hoped that this one would simply be a one on one match featuring Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey, the triple threat match has been booked and will serve as a great main event. It could be seen as the culmination of the efforts stemming from the Women’s Revolution.

History will be made a week from Sunday, as that trio of women close out WrestleMania.

-Rumblings are that we may not see Dean Ambrose on WWE television anymore, including WrestleMania. Several outlets indicate that the Lunatic Fringe may indeed be done on air.

We last saw Ambrose getting laid out in a falls count anywhere battle with Drew McIntyre on RAW. The Scottish Psychopath had earlier laid out Roman Reigns, and concluded the evening by destroying Ambrose.

With Ambrose declaring he wasn’t going to re-sign with WWE, the move does make some sense. WWE surprised many by publicly announcing the departure, which lead some to believe WWE was turning it into an angle, and that Ambrose was going to re-sign after all.

Thus far, there are no indications that Ambrose has decided to stick around, so we may have seen the last of Ambrose.
