Months after she was fired by ABC, Roseanne Barr has spoken out to claim that former first lady Michelle Obama was the person behind her abrupt firing.

Barr was fired last May by then-ABC President Channing Dungey after she posted a tweet about Barack Obama’s senior advisor Valerie Jarrett that many found to be racist and offensive. Barr was fired within hours by Dungey, who is a close friend of the Obamas, and the comedian is alleging that her firing came after Michelle made a personal call to the ABC president.

“She said, ‘This tweet is unforgivable.’ That’s what I was told and I tend to believe it because the woman who fired me is now working with the Obamas at Netflix,” Barr said of Michelle, according to Fox News.

Dungey has since left ABC to work at Netflix, where the Obamas have signed a multi-million dollar production deal. Barr has previously said that Dungey did not like her from the very beginning because she is a conservative who supports Donald Trump. She has also said that Dungey did not like the hugely successful “Roseanne” reboot because she did not want to do a show in which people with differing political views “still loved each other.”

In the months since Barr’s firing, ABC sources have slammed Dungey for letting her go so quickly.

“We didn’t think it through properly. What Roseanne did was wrong but we shouldn’t have rushed to fire her. It was almost a knee-jerk reaction by Ben [Sherwood] and Channing [Dungey] who should have launched an investigation,” one ABC executive recently said. “This would have given them more time to listen to the public, advertisers and cast members to determine the best decision.”

The Obamas felt threatened by the message of unity in “Roseanne”

Given how quickly the decision was made, it makes sense that Dungey may have been acting on personal orders from Michelle when she axed Barr. The Obamas have been working overtime vilifying Trump supporters, which made “Roseanne” a huge threat to their agenda because the show not only humanized conservatives but encouraged liberals to get along with them. Barr was trying to push unity with her show, and since the Obamas want to divide us along party lines as much as possible, they wanted to do anything they could to get the show off the air. Unfortunately, Barr gave them the opportunity that they were waiting for when she posted the tweet about Jarrett and Michelle did not hesitate to pounce and demand her firing.

Regardless of who was behind Barr’s firing, we think it’s time to forgive her. This woman has been through enough, and she deserves a second chance just as much as anyone else.
