Lori Loughlin’s Daughter May Not Have Even Filled Out Her Own College Application

Move over helicopter parents, you have nothing on the “snowplow parents” of the 2010s! These parents specialize in removing all obstacles for their beloved children. As more information comes to light about the college admissions scandal, we’re learning just how far the parents of some privileged kids went to make applying and getting admitted to college as easy as possible for them.

According to court documents available to the public, actress Lori Loughlin‘s daughter, Olivia Jade Gianulli, — who was admitted to the University of Southern California under the false pretense she was on her school’s rowing team — was so little involved in her college admissions process that she didn’t even complete her own application forms.

Loughlin allegedly wrote an email to the mastermind behind the admissions fraud, Richard Singer, saying her daughter didn’t know how to fill out her applications.

“[Our younger daughter] has not submitted all her colleges [sic] apps and is confused on how to do so,” she wrote. “I want to make sure she gets those in as I don’t want to call any attention to [her] with her little friend at [her high school]. Can you tell us how to proceed?”

According to the documents, Singer allegedly directed an employee of his to complete Olivia Jade’s applications on her behalf, meaning Gianulli skipped even the lightest of tasks required of high school students going through the college application process.

Past comments come back to haunt Olivia Jade.

Olivia Jade, who is a YouTube star in her own right, recently apologized for a video she posted prior to attending USC in which she said she was only interested in college for the parties and game day experiences.

“I’m not that interested in school, as you guys all know,” Olivia Jade remarks in the video.

She goes on to say that she wasn’t sure how she was going to balance academics with her YouTube influencer lifestyle, but she’d be speaking with her deans to negotiate a workable schedule that minimized the disruption school would cause.

This statement makes it clear that Olivia Jade’s parents were always more interested in their daughter going to college than she was. As silly as it may seem, Olivia Jade had a job and an interest in being a YouTube influencer. She could’ve continued on without going to college as many other famous influencers, such as the Kardashians, have.

Instead, Olivia Jade will face the fallout from this scandal along with her parents, because of their relentless, unethical, and illegal — not to mention expensive — machinations.
