WWE Has Not Given Up On Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose has made his intentions clear. He wants to leave the WWE after his contract runs out in April. Despite some generous offers from the WWE, Dean believes it is time for him to move on from the company.

Recent reports indicate that the WWE has not given up on Dean Ambrose just yet. In fact, the company is allegedly making Dean another offer.

One Last Attempt

Even though the WWE officially announced Dean Ambrose’s departure on Instagram, Brad Shepard mentioned on his ‘Oh. You Didn’t Know‘ podcast that the company is having a last ditch attempt at re-signing Ambrose. However, this time they are not looking at making the biggest financial offer to keep the Lunatic Fringe.

““WWE is going to take one more swing at re-signing Dean Ambrose and apparently, they’re going to offer him a very sweet deal which may include limited dates. They do not want him to leave.”

If Brad Shepard’s statement is to be believed, the WWE is thinking about offering Ambrose the so-called “veteran” contract. While he would still make a considerable amount of money as a WWE superstar, he would get a lot more free time, too. A lot of superstars are after a contract like that, especially when you consider how often they need to travel. Whether that will be enough for Ambrose to stay, time will tell.

Why Is the WWE so Desperate to Hold onto Ambrose?

There are many reasons why the company is desperate to hold onto Ambrose. First, Ambrose was an integral part of The Shield, one of the most successful factions ever in the WWE. With Ambrose gone, a full reunion for The Shield would be impossible in the nearby future.

In addition to being a member of The Shield, Ambrose is also known as “The Workhorse of the WWE.” He is known to put a lot of effort in training and match preparation. Of course, that ensures he is in the good graces of Vince McMahon and other WWE brass.

Finally, the arrival of – yes, we are going there again – AEW does make Vince worry. Even though the company does not let on about it. The last thing the WWE needs right now is to lose one of its biggest stars to AEW. If Dean were to leave the WWE, it is likely that AEW will have an interest in him.

One does have to wonder if wrestling promotions such as AEW will have an influence on the future contracts of WWE superstars. I have no doubt that they will get some amazing offers from the WWE. But, I also have no doubt that those contracts will have a lot of strings attached. Just how many strings remains to be seen, but for now, signings seem to be playing to the advantage of WWE superstars.
