Former NFL star Tim Tebow sat down with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday night to open up about his new faith-based film Run The Race premiering February 22.
Fox News reported that Tebow, who has switched careers to become a minor-league baseball player for the New York Mets, executive produced the movie himself. He explained that it tells the story of two brothers who each have different beliefs.
“People need to hear the story because it’s a hard world, but people need to be encouraged,” Tebow said, adding that the movie first caught his attention six years ago. While the film is Christian, Tebow wants fans to know that there are other issues at play in the film besides those revolving around faith. He described it as a “real film” that most people will be able to relate to.
For Tebow, being part of making this film allowed him to further show the world his own relationship with God, and to show why Christianity has been such a big part of his life.
“I want to have a life of meaning and significance and purpose more than anything,” he said.

Most star athletes spend their off-time partying or preaching about leftwing politics, so it’s incredibly refreshing to see a star like Tebow using his platform to spread the word of God. As a football and baseball star, he has so many young fans who look up to him, and it’s great that these kids get to see a successful athlete remain so devoted to God.

Tebow explained to Hannity that his entire outlook on life changed when he visited the Philippines as a teenager. It was there he met a little boy who was born with his feet backwards.
“When I left that boy, I knew what I felt like I was supposed to do for the rest of my life and that was, fight for people that can’t fight for themselves and fight for the underdog and love people, and that’s something I try to do in anything that I do,” the athlete said.
In the years since then, Tebow has certainly followed through with this plan. We can’t wait to see him continue to both help people and spread the word of God in the years to come!
