The first major stop on the so-called “Road to WrestleMania” is tonight’s WWE Royal Rumble, and the aftermath of tonight’s bouts will be examined in the WrestleMania pre-show, scheduled to begin at 11pm ET tonight.
Perhaps the most buzz-worthy match on tonight’s Royal Rumble is the Universal Championship bout between Brock Lesnar and Finn Balor — the outcome of which will be hotly discussed by commentators during the first match of the WrestleMania pre-show, Buddy Murphy vs. Akira Tozawa.
WWE on-air personalities including Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Renee Young, Jerry Lawler and others will remain behind their desks after this year’s Royal Rumble champion is crowned, and then spend the next several months hyping up the Rumble winner’s well-deserved main-event match at WrestleMania.
The hosts of the 24-hour, non-stop WrestleMania pre-show will be permitted two breaks each day to use the toilet and rehydrate, during which time the WrestleMania pre-show will replay highlights from tonight’s Royal Rumble.
In the meantime, WWE is expected to heavily promote the upcoming Greatest WrestleMania, to be hosted at the [redacted] Arena in [The Middle East].
